TEN is a fictional non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the rights of transgender youth and providing vital resources across the United States. Their mission encompasses offering essential support services such as counseling, clothing drives to assist trans children in need of a fresh wardrobe post-coming out, crisis intervention resources, as well as hosting informative events and distributing literature. Additionally, they actively collaborate with local pride events nationwide to further their outreach efforts.
The target audience includes transgender children, their supportive friends and families, and allies within the LGBTQIA+ community. Recognizing the diverse socioeconomic backgrounds within the queer community, their services are accessible to individuals from all income levels. However, the donation outreach initiatives are primarily aimed at engaging individuals from middle to upper-class demographics who are in a position to contribute financially to our cause.
The initial step in creating the branding was the creation of the logo, carefully crafted with the iconic rainbow motif symbolizing the diversity of the queer community. To ensure resonance with our target audience, we opted for a palette of muted colors, lending a professional aesthetic to our brand while retaining its inclusive essence.
To round out the branding process, I developed multiple pieces for the brand. This included an animated logo, a postcard designed for mailing to potential contributors, I also designed a “Protect Trans Kids” yard sign, and a book cover for distribution at events. Each element was crafted to maintain cohesiveness with the overall brand identity. Additionally, I designed Instagram posts and created a mockup that I later animated with a scrolling effect in After Effects.
